2007 District Conference a Success
The clergy and lay experienced the blessings of God at the 2007 session of the Pacific Northwest District Conference.
Our host was Rev. Juliet Hemphill and the fine members of Bethel, Yakima. Our hosts were gracious, prepared for our
coming, and entertained us in a mighty way. The conference headquarters was the Best Western Hotel, Yakima where sessions
were held. Various workshops were presented by Allen Renaissance, Inc. (Allen AME Tacoma's not for profit corporation
partner) on creating a 501C3 and its benefits. Additionallly, Rev. Robert Ned, presented on Where Your Money Goes,
Rev. Carey Anderson on the organization of the General Conference, and Rev. Warren Freeman, Jr. on Serving Well, An Attitude
of Stewardship. All of the workshops presented an excellent opportunity for the members of the conference to ask questions
and gain a beter understanding of our church. Additionally, our preaching for the conference took worshippers to a new
level. Rev. David Aaron Johnson, Walker, Seattle, Rev. Mercedes "Tudy" Hamilton, Union Bethel, Great Falls, and Rev.
Teresa Swift, Wayman, Billings, preached until the spirit of the Lord came down.
God blessed in a mighty Way. We are grateful to the leader of the conference, Rev. Shermella Garrett, Presiding
Elder for her leadership and dedication to the work of kingdom building, and for her passion for ministry. This district
conference will go down as being one of the finest in the Pacific Northwest. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
